Back to normal!

We're all back to normal now! Hiccups cured and all our favourite flights are back online.

Some of you eagle-eyed flight-hounds might have noticed that the recent rises in fuel surcharges are not being reflected on certain flights. Rest assured that Adioso will still show you all the cheapest flights, it's just that some of the taxes/fees might be a tad off.

The good news is, we're working on this and they'll all be in sync again soon. Sad to see the prices go up, but at least you can still find the bargains on Adioso!

A slight hiccup...

As some of you might have noticed, Adioso is suffering a slight technical hiccup at the moment that means some flights won't display. We're working on the problem at the moment, and hope to have all the latest and greatest flight data back online soon.

Happy fare hunting!

Cheers,

 Team Adioso.

Welcome to Adioso!

Greetings from Hanoi, Vietnam, where the Adioso team is currently on holidays (mostly) but taking a little time out to get the finishing touches on our new creation, adioso.com.

After many months of development, we're pleased to announce the adioso.com official beta launch!

So, what's it all about?

Well, in the last couple of years, we've become increasingly frustrated with the amount of clicking required to compare real discounted fares between airlines. Sure, sites like Webjet and Expedia let you compare between airlines, but these guys are stuck trying to make money off it, and can only offer the normal agent fares, not the special direct-website-only ones you see promoted via your airline email subscription or the ridiculous 80% off sales that last for 24 hours.

The only alternative is to submit to the time-consuming and frustrating process of manually searching the airlines' own websites, tapping a way at the mouse button on a sure path to a nasty bout of RSI, trying to work out which airline has the best deals to which places on which days, only then to have to try and work out how much you'll really have to pay once those ever-mysterious "surcharges, fees and taxes" are slapped on.

It seemed to us that as the number of airlines grew, so did the difficulty in finding the best deals, and with more airlines looking to enter the Australian market, the problem looked set to keep getting worse.

And so Adioso was born. Adioso monitors a bunch of discount airline websites (currently Jetstar, Tiger and VirginBlue with more to come very shortly) and lets you view, search and sort them in a useful way (normally by price).

We've found that fares can vary quite a lot day to day, so it's definitely worth monitoring things (we will soon be adding a feature that does this for you). We've also noticed that you can't quite trust the "sales" put on by airlines as there are often cheaper fares floating around if you know where to find them. This used to be damned difficult. Not any more.

It's early days for us, so some of the functionality is not quite as polished as it could be, but we're very keen to hear from you as to what you think is good and what you'd like to see added and improved.

That's all for now, we hope you enjoy using Adioso.com
